Hyundai Bayon India: Announced Engine and Cabin Tech

India-spec Hyundai Bayon, official Hyundai announcement image

Hyundai Bayon India features were outlined in the manufacturer’s 12 October 2026 announcement, with a focus on connected technology and a petrol powertrain. For buyers, the useful next step is to connect those headline features with a specific variant and a current written quotation. An announcement describing a car’s technology is not a substitute for checking what the version you can actually buy includes.

What Hyundai announced

The India-spec Bayon announcement specifies a 1.5-litre MPi petrol engine producing 115 PS and 144 Nm, with six-speed manual or IVT transmission choices.

It describes dual 12.3-inch displays, a connected navigation cockpit, a generative voice assistant using Perplexity and SoundHound AI, more than 70 Bluelink features and over-the-air capability for up to 19 controllers.

That October notice scheduled the launch for 26 October. This guide uses it to explain the announced equipment; it does not independently establish current stock, a final variant list or an Indian retail price. Confirm those through Hyundai’s current regional sales information.

Match the features to a variant

Create a short list of equipment you would actually use, then ask which variant includes each item. A feature highlighted in a launch presentation should not be assumed to appear on the least expensive version.

Ask the dealer to identify any option, subscription or connectivity requirement. A connected service and a physical component may have different inclusion and renewal terms.

Compare complete variants rather than assembling an imaginary car from features shown across several promotional photographs. The written specification of the selected version is the useful reference for an order.

Test the cabin as a working interface

A large display can look impressive while parked, but everyday usability depends on how easily you reach the functions you use often. Check the clarity of navigation, climate controls, phone connection and basic settings.

Set up the seating position before judging screen visibility. Reflections, text size and the position of controls may affect different drivers differently.

Use a stationary demonstration for unfamiliar features. Do not let a complicated menu exercise distract from driving during a test route. The purpose is to understand the interface, not to reproduce a promotional performance.

Connected features need practical questions

Ask which functions require mobile data, an account or an active service plan. Check what happens when the connection is unavailable.

For a voice assistant, test a few ordinary requests in the language you normally use. A successful demonstration of one command does not prove that every phrasing or accent will work equally well.

Read the account and privacy information before linking personal services. When a car is shared, consider how driver profiles and connected-phone access will be managed.

Compare the transmissions through use

The announced manual and IVT options should be assessed against your normal driving conditions. A short route in light traffic may not answer the questions of someone who spends most days in congestion.

Check low-speed response, visibility, seating comfort and how confidently you can place the vehicle. Include the passengers and luggage you regularly carry when judging practicality where a demonstration allows it.

This article does not claim tested fuel economy, acceleration or long-term reliability. Those need appropriate real-world evidence rather than an inference from engine output.

Before making a booking

Obtain the current ex-showroom and on-road quotation with taxes, insurance, accessories and any optional packages separated. Confirm delivery estimates and booking terms in writing.

Do not treat an older announcement’s booking amount or proposed delivery period as proof of today’s arrangement. Ask the authorised seller for the current terms.

For another recent connected-car development, our BMW Maps 3D view guide explains why software features also need model, market and availability checks before a buyer relies on them.

Keep discovering.
