Your privacy matters.

How we handle information, use website services and respond to privacy requests.

Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how Bootpoot (https://bootpoot.in), a technology, gaming and news publication, handles information when you browse articles, contact us, interact with site features or apply for a role. It covers this website; third-party websites and services have their own privacy policies. Last updated: 2 November 2026.

Information you provide

Our contact form asks for your name, email address, enquiry type, subject and message, with an optional article or website link. We use these details to respond, investigate corrections and handle your enquiry. Please do not submit passwords, identity documents, financial details or other sensitive information.

Job applications

If you use the Careers application button, your email application may include your name, email address, writing experience, portfolio links and résumé. Your email provider also processes the message under its own terms. We use application information to assess suitability and communicate about the role. Please omit unrelated sensitive information from your résumé.

Browsing and technical information

The website, hosting infrastructure and enabled third-party services may process IP addresses, browser and device information, page URLs, referring pages, timestamps, interactions and diagnostic or security logs. This supports website delivery, troubleshooting, abuse prevention, audience measurement and advertising. The precise information depends on the service and your browser settings.

Cookies and similar technologies

WordPress and enabled services may use cookies, local storage, tags and other identifiers. Essential functions support administration, security and form processing. Analytics and advertising technologies can measure visits, interactions and campaign performance. Browser controls let you block or delete cookies; doing so may affect some features. Clearing cookies does not necessarily remove information already held by a service. Where a consent choice is required, optional processing must follow that choice; this policy itself is not a consent mechanism.

Google analytics, advertising and fonts

The website currently loads Google tags through Site Kit and Google Tag Manager, as well as Google advertising scripts. These services may receive technical identifiers and information about visits and interactions. Advertising may use cookies or identifiers to deliver and measure ads, including personalised ads where enabled and permitted. Google Fonts is loaded externally and may receive your IP address and request details when your browser retrieves fonts. Learn more at Google Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from partner sites. Manage ad preferences through My Ad Center.

Browser notifications

OneSignal supports optional browser push notifications. If you grant notification permission, the service may process subscription identifiers, device/browser information and notification interactions. You can revoke permission through your browser’s site settings. Review OneSignal’s Privacy Policy for its processing practices.

Comments and embedded content

Where comments are available, the details you submit and associated technical information may be processed for moderation and spam prevention. Approved comments and the name you choose can be public; do not include private information in a public comment. Articles may contain videos, social posts or other embedded content. Interacting with an embed may allow its provider to collect information, set cookies or associate activity with your account on that service.

Links, advertising and affiliate referrals

Articles and advertisements may link to third-party websites. Those sites receive information when you visit them and may use referral identifiers or cookies. If an affiliate link is used, a purchase may earn Bootpoot a commission. An affiliate or sponsored relationship should be identified with the relevant content. Third-party purchases and accounts are governed by the destination provider’s terms and privacy policy.

How information is used and shared

We use information to operate and protect the site, respond to enquiries, evaluate applications, moderate contributions, understand readership and support advertising. Information can be processed by providers of hosting, email delivery, forms, analytics, notifications, advertising, security and backups as needed for those functions. Site backups may include database records and uploaded files; our backup configuration includes Google Drive. Information may also be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, respond to lawful requests, investigate misuse or protect rights and safety.

Storage, international processing and retention

Service providers may process information in India and other countries. Their locations and safeguards depend on the provider and service configuration. We retain information for the relevant enquiry, recruitment, operational, security or legal purpose, rather than indefinitely for unrelated purposes. Retention varies by record and service. Backup copies can remain until overwritten or removed under the backup schedule; third-party providers may apply their own retention rules. Contact us if you need information about a particular record or wish to request deletion.

Your choices and privacy requests

You can manage cookies in your browser, adjust Google ad preferences and disable push notifications in browser site settings. To request access, correction or deletion of information you provided, withdraw a permission where relevant, or raise a privacy concern, use our Contact Us form and begin the subject with “Privacy request”. Describe the relevant interaction and request without sending sensitive documents. We may seek proportionate information to verify a request and will explain limitations, including records required for legal, security or dispute purposes. Available legal rights depend on your location and the provisions in force. You may also contact the relevant competent authority where applicable.

Children

This publication is intended for a general audience and does not invite children to submit personal information or job applications. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided information can contact us to request a review and appropriate removal.

Security

We use administrative and technical measures intended to protect information, including access controls and backups. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Please use the contact form to report a privacy or security concern without including passwords or confidential credentials.

Editorial privacy and corrections

If an article or comment contains your personal information and you have a privacy, accuracy or removal concern, use the Contact Us form, select “Article correction” or “Other”, and include the page URL and the reason for your request. Requests are assessed in light of accuracy, privacy, public interest and applicable obligations; submitting a request does not guarantee removal.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy when website features, service providers or practices change. The revision date appears above. Questions and concerns about this policy should be submitted through our Contact Us form.
