JEE Main 2027 Registration: Dates and Fresh-Form Rules

JEE Main 2027 registration for Session 1 is open, with the regular application and fee deadline set for 22 November 2026 at 11:50 p.m. NTA has also issued a newer clarification about submitting a fresh form after making an error. Read that update alongside the original notice rather than relying on an older summary that says every additional application is automatically prohibited.
Important Session 1 dates
The 24 October application notice gives the regular window as 24 October–22 November. Late applications with an additional ₹500 are scheduled for 23–26 November, followed by corrections on 27–29 November.
The notice lists city information for 30 December, admit cards for 13 January 2027 and examinations on 20, 21, 22, 23, 24 and 28 January. Check later official updates and the individual admit card before making travel arrangements.
Session 1 is the January session. The April session has a separate application opportunity, so do not assume that completing the current form automatically completes every later registration step.
NTA’s fresh-application clarification
The 30 October clarification allows a fresh Session 1 application even where an application number was generated or a fee was paid.
NTA says the last form with successful fee payment and a generated Confirmation Page is the valid one. If a fresh form is incomplete at those stages, the earlier completed form remains valid. A fresh form generates a new number and requires details and uploads again.
An earlier fee is neither refunded nor adjusted against the new form. NTA advises candidates who only need certain amendments to use the correction facility instead. Multiple forms do not permit multiple appearances in the same session.
This is a specific clarification, not a reason to create extra forms casually. Read the full notice before deciding which route applies to your situation.
Identity details need careful checking
NTA’s 28 October advisory recommends candidates use their own supported identity credentials and complete DigiLocker Re-KYC before filling the form. It says the candidate’s name and date of birth must match the Class 10 certificate or marksheet.
Compare the records before typing. If they differ, identify the discrepancy and seek official guidance rather than choosing whichever spelling seems easiest.
Use contact details you can continue to access. Keep the application number and confirmation safely, but do not share passwords or identity documents in public applicant groups.
A practical review before payment
Read the form from beginning to end using the relevant certificates beside you. Check names, dates, selected paper, category information and uploaded images.
If another person helps, the candidate should still review the completed information. A helper’s familiarity with an online form does not establish that every entered detail matches the candidate’s records.
Do not leave a final review until the last few minutes of the deadline. Payment or connectivity problems are harder to resolve when there is no time to check the official support instructions.
Confirmation is a separate checkpoint
After payment, verify the application’s status and retain the Confirmation Page. A bank debit message alone should not replace checking what the examination portal records.
If the status is unclear, follow the portal’s payment guidance and official support process. Avoid repeatedly creating new forms as an improvised response to a technical problem, especially given the fee consequences in the clarification.
Before any later correction, read the permitted fields and submission rules for that facility. A correction window is not necessarily an opportunity to replace every part of an application.
For another current NTA deadline, our UGC-NET December correction guide explains a different examination’s one-time editing rules. Do not transfer those field permissions to JEE; each notice applies to its own examination.
